Elaborate security arrangements for Easter: DC

Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal on Friday stressed the need for utilizing all resources for maintaining religious harmony, brotherhood and peace in the country.
He said while presiding over a meeting of Itthadul Bainul Muslameen Committee here in connection with ‘Easter’.
The meeting was attended among others by DSP special branch Nazeer Ahmed, Pasters Pervaiz Sohail,Pervaiz Philip, Johnson Bhatti and DSP CTD Abdul Majeed. He urged the Committee members to play their role in promoting religious harmony and unity.
The DC said that nothing could be more important than maintenance of law and order therefore maximum attention is being paid in this direction.
Gondal said foolproof arrangements would be ensured to prevent untoward incident in the city.
He directed officials that security of Churches be monitored through CCTV and to ensure that cameras be kept completely functional. He directed that security cordon be formed around Churches and conclusion of ceremonies within the fixed time be ensured. City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Abassi told the meeting that in the light of previous terrorist attacks, foolproof security arrangements have been made for Easter, adding security audit of 72 Churches has been completed while search operation is being carried out in and around the city.
