Education vital for progress, prosperity: Iqbal

Lahore—Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said on Saturday that education was need of the hour and progress without it was not possible.
He said this while addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Independence Day celebrations at the Unique Group of Institutes here.
He said that the government was well aware of its responsibilities regarding provision of quality education.
Shortage of teachers in rural areas was being overcome and all of us have to work with unity by setting aside our personal interests in the larger interest of the country, he added.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif was encouraging talented students through scholarships and cash prizes.
