ECP asks PPP, PTI, PAT, AML to give evidences

PM’s disqualification

Islamabad—The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Awani Muslim League (AML) to present clear evidences for the disqualification of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif over the Panama paper leaks issue. The commission has asked the petitioners to enclosed documentary evidence with their petitions.
The four opposition parties have filed references in Election Commission for the disqualification of prime minister after names of his children appeared in Panama paper leaks. Five member bench of the Commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard the petitions. The Election Commission adjourned the further hearing on the references filed by Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Awani Muslim League till 17th August. —SABAH
