DHA Suffa University’s (DSU) students, who recently returned after participating in various international level academic cum engineering research events, called on Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali and briefed him about their visit abroad.
An official of DHA said here on Monday that the students’ delegation included DSU’s Team Buraraq, comprising 20 engineering students. They exhibited their Buraraq race car at the prestigious Australasia competition held in Calder Park Raceway, Australia in Dec 2016.
It also included a student from DSU’s Department of Electrical Engineering who participated in a Winter Camp hosted by Eurasia Institute for International Education Berlin in January 2017. DSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Hussain and Dean of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr. Johar Khurshid Farooqi, were also present on the occasion.
The faculty incharge of DSU’s Team Buraraq, Lecturer Engr. Hamza Sham gave a presentation and apprised the Administrator of the design, features and manufacturing process undertaken by the team to develop the Buraraq race car which won accolades at international forum.
The Administrator lauded DSU students’ hard work and efforts in completing research project with distinction and rewarded them with a cash prize of Rs. 0.5 Million. He advised the students to continue working hard and to keep excelling in future competitions to project the good name of DSU, DHA and Pakistan more effectively abroad.
