Director General Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari held a meeting with District and Session Judge (D&SJ) Abid Hussain Qureshi at his chamber on Wednesday and apprised him about the details of 40 pending cases of expatriate Pakistanis in various courts of the district Lahore.
The D&SJ Lahore issued instructions to courts concerned that pending cases of overseas Pakistanis be decided on priority basis. He said that any undue delay regarding decisions of expatriates cases would not be tolerated.
The DG OPC, on this occasion, said instructions to the lower Judiciary regarding early disposal of the cases would provide substantial relief to expatriate Pakistanis as they come to Pakistan for a shorter period of time and could not continue pursuing their cases due to paucity of time.
Javed Iqbal Bokhari also briefed the D&SJ Lahore about the performance of the OPC and steps being taken for early redressal of the complaints of Overseas Pakistanis.
Director Legal OPC Raja Muhammad Zubair and President District Bar Association Ch Tanveer were also present.
