Drivers violating rules to face strict action

Rawalpindi—Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurrum Janbaz warned motorists not to use mobile phones while driving as it may lead to a fatal accident.
In a statement here Wednesday, The CTO said the motorists should have knowledge about road safety and traffic rules and these must be observed.
The people should cooperate with traffic police so that problems of traffic jams could be avoided, he said adding, traffic rules are in interest and benefit of the commuters and they must be followed on the roads. Traffic signals, overspeeding, lane change, underage drivers should not be allowed as such violations often lead to severe accidents.
He said that use of tinted glasses in vehicles is not allowed and such vehicles would be impounded. The Police Chief said that no one would be allowed to violate the rule of law.—APP
