Rawalpindi—In connection with International Women Day, an exhibition of dress designing showcasing the work of students of Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) attracted a big gathering here on Wednesday.
Member Punjab Assembly Lubna Rehan Pirzada along with by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition.
Over 50 dresses prepared by the students including Asma Harim, Zil-e-Huma, Sana Waheed, Raheela Naveed, Nishat un Nisa, Hira, Anmol, Anum, Shumaila Zeeshan, Asma Fahad, Sadaf, Bareha, Mainmoona, Zuha and Sadia Ejaz were displayed in the exhibition.
The students used fabric painting, silk painting, screen painting and embroidery and many new techniques in their dresses under the supervision of Instructor Maryam Rani. Addressing at the inaugural ceremony, Lubna Rehan said that Punjab Assembly had done a unprecedented job by passing the Women Rights Bill which proved that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was guardian of women rights. She said women were a neglected segment of society but now the situation was changing.
