Doctor’s Club reaches Dr. Shoukat Challenge Football Cup semi-finals

Peshawar—Doctors Club reached to the semi-finals after recording a thumping victory against Saeedabad Club in the quarter-final of the ongoing Dr. Shoukat Challenge Football Cup being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Friday.
Veteran Footballer Saleem Khan Mohmand was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the match, the two teams were introduced to him.
Organizing Secretary Dr. Shoukat, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present.
The match was started with fast tempo and soon Saeedabad, a team of youngsters, got the lead through Fahim Khan, the right winger, on the field attempt.
After taking lead, Saeedabad put in more pressure on the rival defence to double the lead but they were not allowed by Doctors clubs defenders.
It was in the 17th minute when Saeedabad got a foul kick, near to the goal-post and was nicely taken by mid-field Sajid Ullah but was nicely intercept by Doctors club goal-keeper. In the 19th minute Doctors club succeeded in leveling the tally 1-1 when left winger Mujeeb netted a fine goal to make the tally 1-1. At half-time both were tied 1-1. It was the second session in which Doctors club players were looking more combine as they made some fine inroads as a result it was in the 50th minute when Khalid Khan slammed in a beautiful goal to make the tally 2-1.
When Doctors club took the lead, they kept up pressure and with beautiful goal-fetching moves succeeded in scoring another goal in the 61st minute when Khalid dispatched a forceful kick from the 25-yard distance to make the tally 3-1.
After conceding three goals to one, Saeedabad forwards tried their hard to reduce the margin but due to man-to-man marking by Doctors Club forwards Saeedabad Club failed to reduce the margin and thus Doctors Club won the match by 3-1. The match was supervised by Alamgir Khan while Farzan and Khan Baba acted as deputy referees.—APP
