Islamabad—District Zakat Committee Rawalpindi has started distributing Eid gifts, valuing Rs 3,000 to 5,000, deserving poor families, widows and orphans of the district.
A member of District Zakat Committee Saturday told APP that the deserving families were also being sent Rs 1,000 each as Eidi through Easy Paisa. Earlier, the Eidi was sent to the deserving families in the last days of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak. This year the deserving have been sent Eidi in the early days of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak to help enable them to better prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Mubarak in a benefitting manner. He said the poor families would be distributed auto rickshaws and sewing machines free of charge immediately after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said the deserving persons should contact chairman District Zakat Committee Sheikh Sajad-ur-Rehman in case of not receiving their gift packs or having any problem in receiving the gifts.—APP
