Islamabad—Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has asked those encroaching the busy roads of city and causing inconvenience for road users to remove encroachments by their own otherwise they would have to face disciplinary action along with confiscation of their goods. On Wednesday, teams of ICT removed encroachments from Bhara Kahu, Simly Dam Road, Nargis Road, and Murree road through coordination of traders and other stakeholders.
Special teams headed by Magistrate Abdul Hadi and Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Waqas conducted this operation in Bhara Kahu area which has been appreciated by trader’s community and local people.
Official source said this effort of district administration would greatly help to avoid rush or traffic jams in various vicinities of Bhara Kahu in future.
It is to mention that vendors encroach roads or motorists park their vehicles at unspecified area which result in traffic jams causing inconvenience to people.
ICT official source said that efforts are being made to overcome such issues after consultation with traders, shopkeepers and other stakeholders. He said this drive would be extended to other parts of the city like Tarnol, Khana Pul and Rawat as such problematic points have been identified. He said traders and shopkeepers have assured their full cooperation in this regard because such encroachments resulting in traffic jam also affect their businesses.
The teams of ICT are endeavoring to overcome encroachment related problems and desired results can be achieved only through cooperation of citizens. He hoped that mutual cooperation between ICT teams and citizens will further enhance in coming days to ensure convenience to the people and ensure smooth business activities.
