Directives issued for prevention of Congo virus

The Metropolitan Commissioner (MC) of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has directed the veterinary, health and medical services departments to create awareness among citizens on the prevention of Congo virus on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha. He said that the fumigation should be performed in the cattle markets to save the people from germs adding that the media also has also the responsibility to spread this message to maximum number of people, said a statement on Thursday.
He said that citizens should cover their face and hands during
visits to cattle markets and wear light color cloths with full
sleeves so that any Tick can be seen easily. He said that gloves should be worn while the inspection and slaughter of animals. He said citizens should also avoid eating & drinking during visit to cattle markets or carry boiled filtered water for drinking purpose.—APP
