DG Rescue 1122 monitors USAR master trainers course

Rawalpindi—Director General Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Brig (R) Dr. Arshad Zia on Thursday conducted monitoring visit at training venue to observe final exercise of Rescue 1122 Master Trainer Course 2016 related to Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) training arranged by Pakistan Army.
DG Rescue 1122 along with Maj General Anwar (GOC), Brigade Commander 475 Army Engineering Brigade Group Brig Fowad Qamar, Head of Operations Rescue 1122 Punjab Ayaz Aslam, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi Dr. Abdur Rahman, Head of Information Department Rescue 1122 Punjab Deeba Shahnaz Akhter and Training Coordinator Maj Adeel visited training area to observe under training master trainers skills through practical final mock exercise of Urban Search and Rescue techniques, says, a press release issued here.
The under training Rescue 1122 master trainers demonstrated practical skills of USAR including locating the victims, getting access the victim, cutting the concrete structure with specialized equipment, rescuing the victims by confined space entry and height and depth rescue skills from collapsed structure.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arshad Zia said, “I am happy to see that Rescue 1122 master trainers team has been trained very well on specialized skills by the specialists of Army. This team will further impart training to nine Divisional Urban Search and Rescue Team in Punjab. Furthermore this training would enhance operational capacity of Emergency Service.”
He further said, Emergency Service will complete the procedures of establishing USAR teams in collaboration with Army and it would improve coordination of both organizations in case of mega disaster management. Furthermore, DG Rescue 1122 thanked Army trainers for facilitating Rescue 1122 in specialized field and congratulated Rescue 1122 master trainers team for excellent demonstration at all practical stations during exercise, he added.
