DG PFA raids “Gutka” godowns in Nankari Baazar

Director General Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Noor ul Amin Mengal Thursday raided at two “Gutka” godowns in Nankari Bazaar and recovered 110,000 packets.
According to PFA spokesman, the DG on information of vigilance cell conducted a raid at godowns of Bacha Khan Traders and Khizer Traders and recovered huge quantity of “Gutka” packets brought from other provinces for supply to different parts of Punjab. Later, the recovered “Gutka” has been burnt.
Talking to media persons, the DG said the authority was striving to make Punjab province “Gutka” free as it was biggest cause of cancer disease. The DG also conducted raids at different food outlets and production units in Taxila and Attock and checked quality of food items.—APP
