DG Health reviews measles vaccination in Mianwali, Attock

Director General Punjab Dr. Munir Ahmad visited Mianwali and Attok districts to review the arrangements at the Kit Camps and to monitor the performance of the skilled workers teams inoculating the children. Dr. Munir visited the tehsils of Mianwali Piplaan, kalabagh, Eisakhel.
He also visited remote areas of district attock and inspected the kit camps. Dr. Munir Ahmad informed that 12 days Measles Vaccination campaign is successfully being run and measles vaccine injections are given to the children of 6 months to 7 years of age. He told that skilled workers teams are performing their duties with dedication and hardworking. He said that Representatives of International development partners UNICEF, WHO and GAVI are also participating in monitoring activities across the province.
Dr. Munir appealed the parents that they should take benefit of free anti measles campaign and get their children vaccinated against lethal disease. So far 9134947 children have been inoculated across the province whereas in Lahore 920574 children have been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, it is reported from Bahawalpur that the Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Bahawalpur Dr Fayyaz Anwar Saturday said that the 12-day anti-measles campaign was underway in the district successfully. During his visit to Basic Health Unit Syed Imam Shah in Khairpur Tamewali Tehsil, he informed that 304,329 children from age 6 months to 7 years have been injected anti-measles vaccines during first five days of the campaign.
