Development to be made without party tilt: Mayor

Islamabad—Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that he was mayor of the whole city and development of the federal capital would be made by setting aside party affiliation.
Talking to a news channel, he expressed the commitment that he would come up to the expectations of the citizens as well as party leadership who has given him the responsibility.
He said it was the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to make Islamabad, a capital as per international standards, adding, he has many short and long-term plans for the development of the federal capital in this regard.
He said that the division between urban and rural areas of the federal capital would be eliminated and initiatives for the betterment of the people would be taken across the city.
Ansar Aziz said that the metropolitan corporation is focusing on the civic facilities like road infrastructures, public transport and health.
He informed that various departments of Capital Development Authority (CDA) would be handed over to IMC.
The federal capital had a severe problem of clean drinking water and to address this issue various tube wells would be installed in rural areas of the capital.
Replying to a question regarding environment of the city, he also informed that a tree plantation campaign has been started from G-11 sector.
