‘Dengue course to be mandatory for doctors, paramedics in LGH’

Principal Postgraduate Medical Institution (PGMI) and Ameer Uddin Medical College Prof Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab has said that dengue courses would be mandatory for the medical students and newly-appointed doctors, nurses and para medical staff of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH).
He said that this step of dengue course was made mandatory so that every one working LGH would have proper knowledge on the treatment of Dengue disease. He stated this while addressing awareness seminar on dengue held here on Thursday at Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences where Prof Imran Hassan Khan, Prof Agha Shabir Ali, Dr Maliha Hameed and Dr Kashif Aziz also addressed.
Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital Dr Ghulam Sabir, doctors and medical students in a large number attended this seminar.
In his address, Prof Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab said including dengue, people could save themselves from many diseases by maintaining proper cleanliness and doctors should play their role in spreading know how among masses in this regard.
He stressed the role of the print, electronic and social media to inform the masses about the ways and means to ensure cleanliness and avoid dengue by precautionary measures.
