Delaying tactics for refund of sales tax against RPO’s

Anjum Zafar, Chairman, Pakistan Tanners’ Association, Monday, appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Daar to refrain FBR to avoid any further delay/unjustified tactics for rolling back the RPO’s already issued to the Sales Tax Refund claims for PTA member exporters, which is pending since long in million for Pak Rupees at Sales Tax Collectorates in various parts of the country, which is certainly affecting adversely to our member exporters with strong financial stringencies being confronted by them in hampering their business/export activities smoothly & conveniently.
The Chairman, PTA, Anjum Zafar also illustrated that the FBR should have processed refund claims through ERS for tax period July 2016 onwards and subsequently conducted post refund audit instead of asking field officials to do the scrutiny of already issued RPO’s of Sales Tax Refund claims asin result of that the situation would cause serious further liquidity crunch for PTA’s member exporters/manufacturers, who are already suffering a lot for pending Duty Drawback & Sales Tax Claims in lacking of insufficient fund allocation at the Customs & Sales Tax Collectorates for onward disbursement of Claims specially already issued RPO’s for Sales Tax.—PR
