We all know the importance of forests in our life as forests play an important role in the development of a country. According to experts, a country should have at least 25% of land covered and if we talk about our country, we can come across the reality that in Pakistan only 4.5% of land is covered by forests which is really a small percentage. The main reason behind this small percentage is deforestation, every time we can find add in newspapers that trees are being cut down at a petrifying rate to supply with timber, pasture land and farm land, according to some sources around 32% people of Pakistan are depended on cutting down trees to collect wood and sell to earn money. We do believe that the higher authorities can stop this culture if they find an alternative for the people to earn their livelihood instead of cutting trees in the country. I request the authorities concerned to be serious in this matter to save forests, save the country.
