DCs directed to stop use of pencil in Census forthwith

The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Karachi have been directed to stop the usage of making entries in the form-I with pencil by some of the enumerators during Census immediately.
‘Although pencil is not allowed and is not part of the census kit provided to the enumerators by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Sindh, Karachi,’ said a statement of the Commissioner Karachi office here on Thursday.
The Commissioner Karachi who is also the Chairman of divisional census coordination and vigilance committee formed by the provincial government issued such directives following the practice of pencil usage on the first day of the sixth population and housing census-2017.
He has asked all DCs of Karachi to instruct all the enumerators through CDOs immediately and ensure that use of pencil is not repeated. Delinquents may be dealt with law severely.
