Islamabad—Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Tuesday, expressed high hopes that Pak-ADB cooperation would scale greater heights in future. Talking to the Executive Director, Asian Development Bank (ADB) Sami Saeed here, he observed that Pakistan highly valued ADB’s continued support for different development projects.
Sami Saeed extended to the Finance Minister invitation to attend the Annual Meeting of the ADB scheduled to be held at Frankfurt, Germany from 2 to 5 May 2016. He also shared with the Finance Minister detailed schedule of the meeting which will focus on key topics for sustainable development in Asia, including clean energy and climate change; partnering with cities; developing urban areas; and improving production and supply chains.
Minister Dar exchanged views with the ADB senior official regarding current ADB portfolio in Pakistan and also discussed proposals and projects which are in the pipeline. ADB funding has specially aimed to improve Pakistan’s infrastructure and services, and to support reforms. The Minister thanked Sami Saeed for the invitation and said he looked forward to attending the ADB Annual meeting and have in depth exchange of views with the Bank’s senior leadership on future programmes for Pakistan.
