Islamabad—President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said the cultivation of high quality fruit was necessary to increase the export.
The President said during the meeting with a delegation of All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association (PFVA) which headed by its Chairman Waheed Ahmed called on him, here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
He President said that exporters should increase their contact with the federal and provincial exporters’ associations in order to remove impediments in the way of imports and exports.
He said all the stakeholders involved should give recommendations for plant protection of fruits and vegetables so that its implementation could be ensured.
The President assured the delegation that the issues of exporters would be resolved by the government at each and every level.
Traders associated with the fruit sector should train their human resource so that fruits for export could be packaged and secured according to international standards, he added.
He said the government was committed to the development of agricultural sector and the trading community’s recommendations would help the government in devising policies.
