CTP finalizes arrangements for 8th Muharram

Rawalpindi—City Traffic Police (CTP) has finalized all the arrangements for 8th Muharram ul Haram.
Acting City Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Yousaf Ali Shahid informed that 34 mourning processions will taken out on 8th Muharram in Rawalpindi district.
Deputy Superintendents of Police, (DSPs), Inspectors, Traffic officers and wardens have been deployed on city roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Traffic will be diverted on different routes particularly in Pirwadhai, New Town, City, Sadiqabad, Dhoke Syedan, Airport and Adiala sectors. Special traffic arrangements have also been made in Taxila, Wah, Gujar Khan, Kalar Syedan and Murree.
The CTO said, negligence on part of officials, will not be tolerated.
As part of the security measures, all the routes of the Muharram procession will be closed for traffic and no vehicle will be allowed on any procession route. All sector Incharges, DSPs of city traffic police will ensure implementation of the traffic diversion plan. There will be complete ban on parking of any vehicle, motorcycle or handcarts on the route of the procession. He said, emergency squads have also been appointed to maintain the traffic flow. The CTO directed the officials to ensure parking at the distance of 200 meters from the route of the processions.—APP
