Karachi—Karachi Administration is continuing its crackdown against those not selling milk according to the official rates. A statement on Wednesday said that action has been initiated against 178 milk sellers during the last week while 88 have been sent to jail.
Commissioner Karachi, Asif Haider Shah said that milk prices were given in consultation with the representatives of the traders and sellers of milk. He said that no one will be allowed to sell milk at more than official rate. The Commissioner asked the consumers to lodge their complaints, at 1299 and warned action against those indulging in profiteering.
The District Magistrates had arrested nine milk-sellers on the charges of profiteering. The retail price of milk has been fixed as Rs. 80 per litre.
