Court orders appointment of Chairman SLA

Hyderabad—The Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench has given 15 days to the Sindh Government to appoint a new chairman of Sindhi Language Authority (SLA) and submit the report in the court.
According to the details, the court after hearing argument of the petitioner, former Chairman of SLA Sarfaraz Rajar and the respondent, Sindh Culture, Antiquities and Tourism Department gave the order. The petitioner had maintained that the department removed him from the position last month and issued an advertisement for appointment of the new Chairman.
He prayed the court to order the government to cancel the advertisement and allow him to continue working on the position. However, the respondent’s counsel advocate Ayatullah Khwaja apprised the bench that Rajar was given the ‘look after’ charge of the SLA to function as an acting chairman until a permanent one could be appointed.—APP
