Country needs well educated, technical people to keep our boundaries safe: Tanveer

Islamabad—Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Science & Technology addressed participants of inaugural session of one day seminar on “Role of Education, Science & Technology in National Security” convened by Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad in collaboration with University of Management & Technology, Lahore.
“In this era, knowledge is power. If we want to keep our boundaries and people safe, we do not need to rely on latest defense gadgets only but we also need well-educated and technical people to take responsibility,” said the Federal Minister for Science & Technology. While sharing his views with the audience, Rana Tanveer Hussain also shared his directions to the Ministry of Science & Technology and Defense Productions as their Federal Minister that they must come forward and share the demand-supply capacity of each other. He also announced with great pride that both the Ministries have held high level meetings and targeted areas of mutual cooperation. He also informed the audience that a number of MoUs have already been signed between the two Ministries and further are in process. This collaboration will prove to cut down our foreign procurement charges to minimum and save billions of national exchequer.
“We are a hard working nation and our land is blessed with natural resources. In current era, any country who is seriously concerned for its diplomatic success and national security, must tap their natural as well as human resources,” said the Federal Minister for Science & Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain. Science and Technology is that field which allows you to explore the maximum potential of not only your natural resources but also the diplomatic boundaries whereby you can enter into international markets and hence strengthen the economy, he added.
