Cops advised to improve behaviour, public dealings

Peshawar—Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakthunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani here Friday stressed the police officers and constabulary to improve their overall behavior and public dealing. He reiterated the zero tolerance policy towards corruption. He briefed the constabulary that he has developed a proper inquiry and feedback mechanism for the complaints of public.
In case of receipt of any complaint, it is forwarded to three different officers who conduct independent inquiries and on their report the action is taken against the officials. The IGP expressed these views while addressing a Darbar of police constabulary held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, Peshawar. The CCPO, SSP Operations, Divisional SPs, SDPOs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, ASIs and considerable number of constabulary attended the Darbar.
While addressing the police officers and constabulary, the IGP highlighted the efforts of KP police for improving the performance of Police Stations. He said there are two as-pects of Police Station which are essential to improving Police Culture one is the physical resources and the other is the human resource.
As far as the physical resources is concerned, the KP police has established model police stations and new reporting rooms to provide better environment to both the public visit-ing the police stations for redressal of their grievances and the police personnel.
All these gadgets are being utilized by the police personnel deployed at check posts/nakabandies for verification. The hot-spot policing is being employed in prevention of crime. The IGP praised the services and sacrifices rendered by the Peshawar police during the last decade-and-a-half.
