He said that according to the official statistics of essential commodities, the price of new potato has decreased from Rs 37 to 27 in a week, while the price of stored potato has decreased to Rs 12 from Rs 14. Ginger price has decreased from Rs 157 to 151, whereas the prices of tomato, garlic, garlic (China), garlic (desi), lemon (desi), white gram and other pulses remained unchanged.
As per the provincial government policy, the Punjab Agriculture Department was utilizing all its resources to ensure provision of essential commodities to people at cheaper rates.
