Lahore—To eliminate transfer posting of doctors on nepotism basis, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHCD) has made a comprehensive transfer posting policy of general and specialist cadre’s doctors across the Punjab.
Doctors working at Basic Health Units (BHUs), Rural Health Centers (RHCs), Tehsil Headquarter Hospitals (THQs) and District Headquarter Hospitals (DHQs) would not be transferred until fulfilling eligibility criteria.
A copy available with Pakistan Observer issued to DG Health Services, EDO health and MS of DHQs and THQs hospital stated that to streamline the transfer posting of doctors of general and specialist cadres from one functional unit to another and an eligibility criteria has been developed.
According to criteria that transfer of a doctors belongs to general cadre doctor from one BHU to another BHU would be generally admissible subject to vacancy while a doctor would be transferred from BHU to RHC only if his/he replacement in available there. More than 3 year service required for a doctor who wants to transfer from BHU to THQ and DHQ hospital.
