Commissioner of Karachi, Ejaz Ahmad Khan has sought a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) to be jointly adopted by local hospitals in the backdrop of terrorism induced risks.
Presiding a meeting attended by the administrators of major hospitals functional in the metropolis, he said a fool proof mechanism has to be guaranteed to handle terrorism specific emergency situation.
“Measures adopted for the safety of citizens needed to be also complimented with fool proof mechanism to provide timely and quality medical care to the victims of relevant mishap” said the Karachi Commissioner.
Reiterating that terrorism is a real threat and that administration without creating any unnecessary public scare is committed to protect citizens, he said each and every institutions has to play its due rule.
“It is time to have fool proof and round the clock emergency care provision for injured victims who (God Forbid) may get exposed to terrorism related mishaps,” said Commissioner Ejaz Ahmad Khan.
Mentioning that such victims need specialized medical interventions care, different from other categories of emergency care, he also urged the hospital administrator to ensure proper training and capacity building of their staffers at regular basis.
Administrators, pertaining to both private and public sector hospitals, assured to extend all needed support and also to coordinate with each other. They agreed to share with each other details related to capacity building of their respective staffers.
