Commissioner holds meeting on anti-polio campaign

Commissioner Karachi Ijaz Ahmed Khan will inaugurate anti-polio drive in the city from tomorrow (Saturday), said a statement issued here on Friday.
The Commissioner Karachi in this connection reviewed the arrangements to make the polio eradication campaign a success.
In this connection, he held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner East office and was infomred that all arrangments have been completed in six Districts of Karachi.
The participants of the meeting included Deputy Commissioner East, all concerned Health officials, officials of district administration and representatives of World Health Organization.
Around 2.2 million children below five year of age will be vacinated in 188 UCs of the city, it was informed.
A Monitoring system being established to over see the the campaign, while Commissioner Karachi in this regard will personally visit different areas of the city.
The Commissioner Karachi said that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has also emphasized for making all out efforts for the eradication of polio campaign, and directed to take all possible measures to ensure eradication of polio virus from the city.
The Commissioner Karachi said that extra efforts were need for the eradication of this crippling disease.
He warned that the concerned official will be held responsible if any child left without having polio drops.
