Cold, dry weather to persist in most parts

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. An official of met told APP, the dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is still affecting northern parts of the country and its adjoining hilly areas.
Meanwhile, the Karachi Met Office on Monday forecast partly cloudy weather with misty morning for Karachi for the next 24 hours. A Met Office official said that minimum temperature would range between 15 and 17 degrees Centigrade during the period.
He said that minimum temperature recorded in Karachi on Monday was 18.5 degrees Centigrade while the maximum temperature was 28.5 degrees Centigrade. Humidity in the morning was 91 percent whereas it was 46 percent in the evening.
Lowest temperatures recordrd were Skardu -06øC, Kalam and Hunza -05, Skardu -06øC, Astore -04øC, Gupis, Malam Jabba -03øC, Kalat and Rawalakot -02øC, Bagrote and Dir -01øC, Chitral 00øC, Murree 01øC, and Quetta 01øC, Gilgit 01øC, Muzaffarabad 04øC, Islamabad 05øC, Peshawar 08øC, Lahore 09øC, Faisalabad 11øC, Multan 11øC, Karachi 16øC and Hyderabad 16øC.—APP
