City facing water shortage

Rawalpindi—Various areas of the city are facing acute water shortage. The areas including, Adiala road, Jarahi stop, Shah Khalid Colony, Raja Akram colony, Faisal colony and Fazal Town were not getting sufficient supply of water.
The residents of these areas had demanded the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to take solid steps for the provision of the basic need. A resident of Adiala road, Haji Waheed, talking to APP on Sunday said that there was no such arrangement of providing water adding that “we have to fetch water from other areas to meet the daily needs.” He said that the residents could not afford water tank provided by WASA as they had to pay Rs 1,000 twice a week to the agency to get water tank.—APP
