City Council approves two resolutions

Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC)’s Council meeting was held in the KMC Building on Friday.
In the absence of Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar due to his official assignments, Parliamentary Leader Aslam Shah Afridi presided over the meeting during which the council with majority of votes approved two resolutions, said a statement on Friday.
Before this, council member names were called to chair the meeting under the Sindh local government ordinance section 83/2 and the council voted for three parliamentary leaders, Aslam shah Afridi of MQM, Karamullah Waqasi of Pakistan People’s Party and Junaid Mukati of Jamat-e-Islami.
In the voting for chair Aslam Shah Afridi got 89 votes whereas Karamullah Waqasi obtained 55 votes and Junaid Mukati got 3 votes.
The council gave approval for two resolutions about change in the map of the Zulfiqarabad Oil tanker parking terminal and charged parking recovery from 24 locations in the city for fiscal year 2018-19.
The council also offered fateha for late Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Kulsoom Nawaz and prayed for early recovery of ailing mother of city councilor Azra Mehmood—APP
