Citizens demand early start of Polyclinic extension project

Citizens on Monday demanded the concerned quarters to immediate start construction work on the Federal Government Poly Clinic (FGPC) extension project to facilitate patients.
According to them, there should be no further delay in the extension work as the hospital was catering to the needs of a large number of people and the present building was not enough to fulfill the requirements.
They said that with the completion of expansion plan, more facilities will be available for patients and the hospital will offer modern healthcare equipment.
A citizen Aftab Ahmad said that Poly clinic is situated in the center of the city and the authorities concerned should take immediate steps for its up-gradation to serve the patients.
He said that presently due to unavailability of beds, many patients have to move to the private hospitals despite their financial issues. Another citizen, Hameed Khan said that there was heavy burden on two major hospitals of the federal capital due to frequent visits of patients from different cities. He added keeping in view the situation, the management of FGPC should take immediate step to upgrade the hospital. He said with the extension plan, the citizens will have more better options to avail in case of any emergency or health complications. It is pertinent to mention here that a five-storey building would be constructed on a 2.5 acre section of Argentina Park. The new building will have two basement levels and a parking lot.—APP
