Chief Secretary asks fisheries department, KFHA, FCS to follow mutual policy

Sindh Chief Secretary Major (Retd.) Azam Suleman Khan Wednesday asked the authorities of Sindh Fisheries Department, Karachi Fish Harbor Authority (KFHA) and Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) to follow a balanced and mutually agreed policy to boost the role of KFHA and to enhance its income.
Addressing a meeting presided over by him, Chief Secretary ordered constitution of a three member sub-committee, comprising the representatives of Fisheries Department, KFHA and FCS, to settle all differences and report within three days, for further necessary action.
Azam maintained that cleanliness and beauty of the Karachi Fish Harbor must be ensured. He categorically noted that no any laxity would be tolerated and said strict disciplinary action should be taken against the defaulters.
The Chief Secretary advised the Managing Director (MD) Korangi Fish Harbor to cope with the Karachi Fish Harbor.
The affairs of service delivery, capacity line of action, Auction System, Computerization of transaction and Auction proceeds and vigilance & monitoring were also discussed for improvement during the meeting.
Additional Chief Secretary Environment Mukhtiar Muhhtar Hussain Soomro, Secretary Fisheries and Live Stock Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho, Secretary Cooperation Dr. Nasim-ul-Ghani Sehto, Director General Fisheries Akbar Soomro, Chairman Fisherman Cooperative Society (FCS) Hafiz Abdul Bar, M.D. KFHA Dr. Waseem and other senior officers attended the meeting.—APP
