Amid the raging furry ignited by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Chaudhry brothers on Thursday questioned the need of issuing a statement after which, they said, the government had to give explanations.
According to a private TV channel, the PML-Q leaders also questioned the sort of diplomacy being followed by the government. “What kind of diplomacy it is that you started shouting while sitting in your own home,” they asked in a statement and regretted that the episode had made Pakistan a laughing stock. “There is no need of making everything public every time,” the seasoned politicians stressed and said the Foreign Office should have shown extra-care in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations.
Ch Shujaat Hussain and Ch Pervaiz Elahi reminded the people that Saudi Arabia had always supported Pakistan in a tough period. Why the issue wasn’t discussed with Riyadh privately, they noted. Every patriotic Pakistani, they said, would foil the attempt to create fissures in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, adding that no one had the right to damage the relations with the brotherly Islamic countries. The PML-Q leaders also noted that it was considered antagonism and enmity whenever they pointed out the mistakes for correction purposes. “This approach isn’t right,” added the Chaudhry brothers.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League USA President Zakir Hussain Naseem called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain and his son Ch Shafay Hussain at their residence here.
He inquired about the welfare of Ch Shujat Hussain at the very outset. During the meeting, views were exchanged in detail about the national political situation and Zakir Hussain Naseem briefed about the party’s activities and reorganization in the USA.
