Changing narrative

It is very unfortunate that efforts are being made to make today’s general election controversial. The increasing terrorist attacks are causing fear in political circles and general public. But more than that a well-orchestrated campaign seems to be underway to change the narrative of both domestic and international audiences about the transparency of the election. It is sad to see a few media houses in Pakistan running very controversial campaign to malign the role of state institutions in the election process.
International media, particularly Indian media, has published many articles and news reports written by Pakistani authors which they are using to portray Pakistan a non-democratic state having judiciary which is not independent. It is high time that we stop flourishing the hidden agenda of our enemies for the sake of vested interests and make today’s election successful with impartial coverage at all levels.
