AN unfortunate incident rocked Balochistan again on Saturday. Three persons including a leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) Maulana Muhammad Afzal were killed and more than a dozen others injured in an explosion that hit Chaman area of Balochistan’s Qilla Abdullah District. In past one saw JUI (F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former Senate Deputy Chairman Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri being attacked in suicide attacks.
Apart from political leaders, there have also been frequent attacks especially on security personnel in recent times that clearly show that enemy is bent upon sabotaging peace and stability in Balochistan province, which is hub of multi-billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Chaman blast that claimed life of a political figure must not go unnoticed and those behind it should be arrested and unmasked. Despite arrest of Indian RAW agent Kulbushan Yadav, we have no doubt in saying that India is still active in the province to stoke anarchy and chaos to achieve its ulterior motives. Chaman blast came just few hours later after Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the UN General Assembly very aptly referred to Indian interference in Balochistan. The way PM Imran Khan is exposing extremist ideology of RSS and it’s political wing the BJP is appreciable and this effort must continue in future with much more force and commitment so that the world could see and judge for itself as to which country stands for peace and which harbours terrorism.
The fact of the matter is that India is fully supporting a proxy war against Pakistan by abetting, financing and extending all out support to terrorist outfits. The very statement of Kulbushan Yadav is very much on the record as to what are India’s designs against Pakistan and the CPEC. We cannot remain oblivious to Balochistan’s situation. There is dire need to further strengthen security and intelligence network in the province to pre-empt and foil any evil activity of the enemy. We are confident that the Baloch people will also support security forces in this endeavour, as it is only through ensuring security in the province that true potential of the corridor project can be exploited.
