CEO, two directors of ‘Model Housing Enclave’ arrested

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Model Housing Enclave, Farhan Cheema, Director Muhammad Qasim and Director Faryad Ali on the charges of committing corruption and corrupt practices through cheating public at large by alluring them of delivering plots in the said housing enclave. Peering into the case, the accused launched selling campaign by offering of discount voucher amounting to Rs 350,000 without purchasing of sufficient land and seeking approval from Lahore Development Authority (LDA) while they have sold thousands of vouchers and managed to collect hefty amount from public upto billions of rupees.
Earlier, the accused ones have sold numerous vouchers in the name of Model Trade Centre, whereas, no such land was existing under the name of centre.
As per details, the said housing society is not yet been approved by LDA whereas, the owners were not entitled to sell any land to general public.
During the course of inquiry, it transpired that being CEO of the society, the accused sold discount vouchers / plots fraudulently by violating the determined rules and laws of the land, merely, with the intention to attract maximum public. Furthermore, for hoodwinking general public the accused illegally erected containers at the site for the purpose of sale of plots, files and discount vouchers, whereas, the accused was still collecting funds by booking plots to public even after publishing ads by NAB Lahore against him in different newspapers.
