CDA to allocate land in F-9 Park for Safari adventures

Islamabad—Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to establish Safari Park over an area of 100 acres in Fatima Jinnah (F-9) Park. Initially an amount of Rs. 400 million has been allocated for the purpose. The Safari Park would have facilities and amusement features in line with International Safari Parks.
This was informed during a meeting held at CDA headquarters here on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal while Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed, Member Environment Sanaullah Aman and senior officers of relevant formations were also present during the meeting.
Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal was informed that up-gradation of F-9 Park, established over 745 acres, is in progress. He was informed that facilities in 40 acres area have already been up-graded while more facilities are being added in addition to improvement of the existing facilities in 200 acres area of F-9 Park. He was informed that installation of forest wheel facility in the name See Islamabad has also been planned in the F-9 Park.
The meeting was also briefed that the facilities including Children Park, walking and jogging tracks, cycling track, skating track, cricket ground and other amusement facilities are also being up-graded. On this occasion, Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the Environment Wing for early completion of codal formalities so that practical work on the project could be initiated.
The meeting was informed that not only all the major parks of the city are being up-graded but special attention is being paid on the uplift of parks in sectoral areas. The meeting was informed that provision of missing facilities and up-gradation of existing ones is also being ensured.
