CDA starts Spring Tree Plantation campaign

Islamabad—The Capital Development Authority (CDA), has formally launched the Spring Tree Plantation campaign 2016 here on Monday at F-9 Park. The CDA has arranged a colorful inaugural ceremony in which large number of officers and officials of CDA, general public, students of different schools, traders, NGOs and employees of other government and private departments have planted saplings at plantation site during the inaugural ceremony.
The Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal was the chief guest of the event and he also planted a tree. He said that Islamabad is the second beautiful capital of the world and civic body is making its all out efforts to make the Islamabad as a most beautiful capital.
CDA will plant 300,000 saplings, however, with the collaboration of NGOs and different institutions 450,000 plants including Alestonia, Silver Oak, Legustornea, Argun and Gab bets etc would be planted in different areas of Islamabad. During Spring Tree Plantation Campaign, CDA would plant 225,000 plants in the rural areas of the city while 75,000 plants will be planted in the urban area particularly in different residential sectors, median strips of avenues, green belts along major highways and parks which would eventually help enhance natural beauty of Islamabad.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the Environment Wing to make consolidated steps and comprehensive arrangements for distributing free of cost plant saplings among the residents of the federal capital. He directed to display awareness banners and streamers in this regard. In order to achieve desired results from the campaign, the authority has sought collaboration of the educational institutions and other concerned departments of the federal capital.
