CDA gets 100 acres of land vacated  from illegal housing society

Islamabad—The Capital Development Authority(CDA)’s enforcement directorate  with the assistance of Metropolitan Corporation got vacated  least 100 kanal of forest  land occupied by an illegal housing society in D-12 sector.
According to details, a joint operation was conducted by enforcement directorate unit and environment wing of metropolitan corporation Islamabad against illegal housing society which had occupied the land of national forest in the area.
During the operation a large number of officers and staff of the CDA  used heavy machinery for taking possession of the land from land mafia.
Earlier the CDA personnel had tried to get the land vacated  but  the influential people of the housing society, North Ridge,   resisted the move and injured several personnel. A Case was also lodged against the concerned people of the society who resisted the operations and injured the officials.
After getting the land vacated the CDA has directed the concern departments to set up check post in national forest area for monitoring the land and also take action to get remaining state land that in occupation of the land mafia.
