Caretaker Minister for extending green line route to Keamari, Dockyard

Caretaker Minister for Transport & Mass Transit Authority Col. (Retd) Dost Muhammad Chandio on Tuesday said the route of Green Line Bus Project should be extended to Keamari and Dockyard to facilitate commuters.
He said this while presiding over meeting regarding Green Bus Line at his office here on Tuesday.
Secretary Transport Saeed Awan, Chief Engineer Karachi Infrastructure Development Company Nisar Ahmed Sario, Manager KIDCL Lt-Col. (Retd) Zaid Shamshad, Manager MEP KIDCL Shafi M. Chachar, Director EA Tanveer Ahmed and others attended the meeting.
Provincial Minister held out assurance to the company to resolve their issues pertaining to Green Lines and said, the land would be acquired for bus depot at Surjani Project.
He was of the view that Green Line was an important project which would reduce the traffic problems of metropolitan and provide quality transport facilities to Karachiites.
On the occasion, Minister has briefed that green line was 22 KM federal government funded project. In the first phase, a hundred buses would be operated on the route.
In this regard, International bidding process would be carried out.
Minister for Transport further informed that for the security of project private security company has already been hired through a competitive bidding process.
