Car lifters gang busted

The police have busted a gang involved in car lifting and arrested its two members besides recovering 10 stolen vehicles from their possession.
Superintendent Police Rawal Division, Behram Khan addressing a press conference here on Thursday said, on the directives of Regional Police Officer, Rawalpindi Division Fakhar Sultan Raja and City Police Officer, Rawalpindi Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Waris Khan police under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Police Waris Khan Zaigham Abbas, Station House Officer Muhammad Riaz and Incharge IT Lab constituted a team.
The team after hectic efforts unearthed the gang and managed to net criminals namely Asad Saeed son of Mansab Khan and Idrees s/o Ghulam Nabi residents of Attock allegedly involved in car snatching and lifting, he added.
The gang members confessed to have lifted vehicles from different areas.
The Police recovered 10 vehicles including two Suzuki Mehran, two Suzuki Khyber cars, one Suzuki FX and five Suzuki pick ups.
A case has been registered against the nabbed persons while further investigation is underway.
To a question, he informed that foolproof security arrangements would be made to ensure security of the mourners during Muharram ul Haram.—APP
