Abbottabad police in has arrested gang of inter provincial car lifters and recovered two vehicles including one which was stolen from Nathiagali. While giving details to media in a hurriedly called press conference, additional SP Abbottabad Sonia Shamroze Khan Jadoon said that car lifters gang comprises of at least nine members out of which five are located at Peshawar, Charsadda and Lahore had arrested four of who had admitted before media men that in the last fifteen days, the had stolen five vehicles, two from Muree, Two from Gujar Khan and one from Nthiagali.
Those who are arrested are Mazhar (Abbottabad), Sibteen Shah (Haripur) Musa Khan (Muzaffarabad) and Shiraz (Charsadda) while Habib (Rawalpindi) escaped from the spot. Police had recovered two vehicles GLI Number LEC-2872 and GLI vehicle No AN-550 were recovered from them. They use sophisticated and latest technology while stealing the vehicles and special jammers are used by them.
Soni Shamroz told that car theft was reported on 22nd June 2018 at Nthiagali police station where vehicle owned by tourist Mehmood Asghar (Lahore) was stolen from outside of Pine Park Hotel and teams headed by DSP Nthiagali Rizwan Habib alongwith SHO’s of Nthiagali Gohar Rehman and Incharge police post Donga Gali Zubair Khan started search with the CCTv cameras installed on different routes and found two vehicles moving from the Makool Pine road towards Havelian where police party raided them and arrested them with little resistance. After initial interrogation, accused that they had gang of nine members expert in jamming the tracker system with removing.
