Cameras installed under safe City Project being repaired

Islamabad—Security and surveillance cameras installed at important boulevards of the city under safe city project are being repaired as some were damaged by the protesters who staged sit-in here for four days.
The protesters damaged these CCTV cameras at Faizabad, Blue area and other locations which were installed in recent past in the city.
The sources said that safe city project was planned to be inaugurated in April 2016 and teams of experts have started repair work on it after damage by the protestors and inauguration would not be delayed. Around 1,800 surveillance cameras have been installed across the federal capital under safe city project and companies supplying them would be also contacted for assistance during repair work, the sources added.
It is to mention that project’s command and control centre has been established in a bomb proof building at H-11 which will monitor important buildings, entry and exit points, roads, commercial centres and a sizable portion of the city’s residential areas after its formal inauguration.—APP
