Lahore—Upon directions of the Director General Emergency Services Academy (Rescue 1122) Brig. (R) Amir Hamza, the under training cadets of different provinces celebrated Eid-ul-Fiter at the National Centre of Excellence by engaging them in hands-on-practice of disaster management training including Urban Search & Rescue, Flood Management and Fire Fighting.
The Disaster Response Force stationed at Emergency Services Academy along with trained rescuers remained on high alert during Eid holidays for response to any major incident in Pakistan.
Brig. (R) Amir Hamza stated that in wake of upcoming monsoon and flood season, the cadets celebrated their Eid at the Academy by organizing different activities of specialized flood management training to rescue & extricate emergency victims from confined deep places & debris through SCUBA diving and boats’ operations. Furthermore, a “Bara Khana” was also arranged on Eid days.
Brig. (R) Amir Hamza appreciated their zeal of celebrating their Eid at Academy in connection with preparation for better response during any disaster especially the possible floods.
He said that Rescuers should remain alert round-the-clock because we have to come up to the expectations of the public and maintain the standard of service delivery.
