Brutal killing of protestors in Srinagar

IN their continued acts of state oppression in held Valley, Indian troops again resorted to violence and use of brute force on protestors in Srinagar who while defying curfew and other restrictions had gathered at Tral Town to offer funeral prayer of freedom movement commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani. Eleven people lost their lives and many more injured in the unbridled use of force by the Indian troops on unarmed protestors. Such incidents are not something new for the Kashmiri people who have been waging a persistent struggle over the last many decades to get the right of self determination and in our view the recent tragic incident is going to further ignite the spirit of brave and valiant Kashmiri people to continue the freedom struggle with the same character their forefathers had spearheaded.
History bears testimony to the fact that movements, which run in the bloods of the people, do not subside and no amount of force can suppress them. The freedom movement of Kashmiri people is just a classic example where generations after generations the youth of Kashmir are keeping firm the flag of right to self determination- the one that has also been accepted by several UN Security Council resolutions. In our view, the struggle in Occupied Kashmir has reached a decisive point from where the cruel Indian hands will not be able to choke or deny the basic right of Kashmiri people. We say so with a particular background and keeping in view the recent developments in the Valley. Though the Indian side is continuing with its tyrannical campaign on one pretext or the other, this has not diminished the love of Kashmiri people for Pakistan but rather has further solidified it. Now the Kashmiri people especially the youth start their day with the hoisting of Pakistani flags and reciting of Pakistani anthem. We will urge Modi administration to see the writing on the wall and while shunning its intransigence engage in sincere dialogue process with Pakistan, also involving Kashmiri leadership, for just resolution of the lingering dispute.
