Boy’s killing: DIG west suspends SHO Mominabad

DIG Karachi West Zulfiqar has suspended the SHO of Mominabad police station over the killing of ten-year-old boy Rehan by policeman in Mominabad area here yesterday.
A committee lead by SSP Central Irfan Baloch is also being formed for the transparent investigation of the case, DIG West has said.
Policeman Majid, who opened the fire on little Rehan was suspended for quite sometime, Zulfiqar said.
He also said that investigations about the shooting are still underway. It may be mentioned here that the residents of Mominabad locality in Karachi’s Orangi Town yesterday surrounded a local police station protesting the alleged killing of a 12-year-old boy by police personnel.
Rehan was allegedly killed by policemen. However, the motive behind the firing incident in which the boy killed, could not be ascertained.
The area residents chanted slogans against the police and demanded stern action against the policemen involved in the grisly incident.
On the other hand, two sisters Saima and Tasleema, were killed and a five-month-old boy Sabir was wounded in firing in a house situated in Machar Colony area of Maripur.
Family members of the deceased women have alleged that Saima’s husband was involved in the firing incident. Police have started investigation.
