Bonded labour not to be tolerated

Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa has warned that bounded labour would not tolerate at all at bricks kilns, petrol pumps and workshops in the district and owners of bricks kilns, petrol pumps and workshop involved in bounded labour would be arrested without any discrimination.
He expressed these views while addressing the meeting of District Anti-Bounded Labour committee Hafizabad. District Police Officer Muhammad Ghias Gull, ADC (Revenue) Allah Ditta Waraich, ADCG Murzia Hussnain Changazi, AC Umer Farooq Waraich, CEO District Education Authority Iftikhar Nawaz Virk and other members of the committee attended the meeting.
DC said that the Punjab government was taking all possible measures to provide educational facilities to children of downtrodden and low-income people so that they could become successful citizen of future to get rid of economical slavery and bounded labour. He said that it was basic responsibility of the state to induct deprived segment of society in national mainstream as well as to provide of equal opportunities of development that is why present government was ensuring solid steps to eliminate bounded labour from the province.
While giving briefing to the meeting, representatives of Labour and Social Welfare Departments appraised that no case of child labour was surfaced during the surprise visits of 88 registered bricks kilns while social security cards have been issued to 266 factory workers and steps were being taken to issue social security cards to others factory workers as well as measures were also being taken for registration of all workers in the district.
It was also informed the meeting that Khidmat Cards have been issued to the parents of 243 children and financial assistance was being provided through Khidmat Cards while steps were also being taken to enroll 791 children of workers in the schools. Meanwhile, addressing the meeting of District Education Authority Hafizabad, Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad has banned causal leaves of teaching staff of school education department Hafizabad completely to change trend of enjoying unjustified leaves by teachers.
